Two Students Hospitalized After Stabbing Incident at Carine Senior High School

Two students at Carine Senior High School in Perth, Western Australia, were rushed to the hospital following a stabbing incident on Thursday morning. The incident, which involved a 16-year-old boy being stabbed in the back, prompted a quick response from the authorities. Emergency services were called to the school at around 10 am.

The injured students, a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy, were each taken to separate hospitals in Perth. Thankfully, their injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening. A 15-year-old girl was taken into custody in connection with the incident. The girl is believed to have inflicted injuries to her own neck using an edged weapon.

Damian Shuttleworth, the principal of Carine Senior High School, sent a letter to parents to inform them about the incident. He reassured them that the police quickly contained the situation and there is no ongoing cause for concern. Support has been provided to both staff and students affected by the incident.

According to witnesses, the incident occurred inside a classroom located on the top level of the English classroom block at the school. The community and the wider public are not at risk, as the situation has been contained. The Department of Education is working closely with the police to address the sensitive and complex issues related to this incident.
