Monster Hunter Wilds Announced for 2025 Release

Surprising absolutely no one, Capcom has confirmed the development of a new entry in its popular Monster Hunter series. Titled Monster Hunter Wilds, this upcoming game is set to bring about several exciting changes. The announcement came as the grand finale during Capcom’s latest showcase.

With the 25th anniversary of the Monster Hunter series approaching next year, fans had been anticipating a new installment. Although specifics about Monster Hunter Wilds are still under wraps, the brief glimpses of gameplay featured in the trailer show that the game will retain the core gameplay mechanics while introducing one key modification. The environments in which players hunt appear to be the largest and most expansive in the series’ history.

The trailer showcases the player character riding on the back of a monster through a horde of creatures while being pursued by two colossal monsters. It concludes with the character soaring through the skies, gazing out at a vast open field. In an interview with series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, it was revealed that Monster Hunter Wilds will feature “a new level of detailed creatures and ecosystems.”

Although an exact release date has yet to be announced, players can expect Monster Hunter Wilds to launch in 2025. This grants fans ample time to complete their adventures in both Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter World, before embarking on the next thrilling journey in the monster-filled universe.
