McCarthy, the son of a firefighter, expressed his optimism in a statement, acknowledging his humble beginnings by recalling the time he was denied an internship in the very same office he eventually occupied. He emphasized the importance of his achievements, stating how only in America could such progress be made.
Throughout his career, McCarthy played a pivotal role in leading Republicans to a House majority on two occasions.
